Female Football Gippsland crowned its 2026 premiers on Sunday, with Boisdale-Briagolong, Bairnsdale and Warragul Industrials taking home premierships in front of a huge crowd of more than 1,400 people at Traralgon Recreation Reserve.
Three Grand Finals brought the 2026 season to a close, with the West Division Girls, East Division Girls and Latrobe Health Services Women’s competitions decided across a full afternoon of female football.
Warragul Industrials — West Division Girls Premiers
Warragul Industrials completed an outstanding season by claiming the 2026 West Division Girls premiership after finishing on top of the ladder at the end of the home-and-away season.
The Dusties progressed directly through to the Grand Final before producing a dominant performance in the decider, defeating Warranor by 60 points to secure the premiership.
Ella Sowden (Warragul Industrials) was awarded the AFL Victoria Medal as Best on Ground, as selected by the match umpires.

Bairnsdale — East Division Girls Premiers
Bairnsdale capped off a strong 2026 campaign by securing the East Division Girls premiership after finishing first on the home-and-away ladder.
The Redlegs booked their place in the Grand Final with victory in the qualifying final before defeating second-placed Traralgon 5.10 (40) to 2.0 (12) in the premiership decider.
Charlotte Richardson (Bairnsdale) received the AFL Victoria Medal as Best on Ground, selected by the match umpires.

Boisdale-Briagolong — Latrobe Health Services Women’s Premiers
Boisdale-Briagolong secured the 2026 Latrobe Health Services Women’s premiership after finishing on top of the home-and-away ladder.
The Bombers worked their way through the finals series to earn a place in the Grand Final against Moe, before recording a 2.7 (19) to 1.1 (7) victory to complete their premiership season.
Teagan Sheldon (Boisdale-Briagolong) was awarded the AFL Victoria Medal as Best on Ground, as selected by the match umpires.

A Celebration of Female Football
The Grand Finals capped the first season of the Female Football Gippsland competitions operating under the Gippsland League, bringing together players, coaches, volunteers, umpires, officials, supporters and clubs from across the region.
A crowd of more than 1,400 people attended Traralgon Recreation Reserve across the afternoon, providing a fitting conclusion to the 2026 season and showcasing the continued growth of female football throughout Gippsland.
Gippsland League congratulates Warragul Industrials, Bairnsdale and Boisdale-Briagolong on their 2026 premierships and thanks everyone who contributed to a successful season.
