TRFM will be calling each round of the 2022 Alinta Energy Gippsland League.

The announcement marks the station's eighth consecutive season calling Gippsland's Premier Football Netball competition.

TRFM General Manager Mat Cummins said the station is looking forward to continuing its involvement in community events and sports.

"We're really excited to support the local community through this partnership with the Gippsland League," he said.

"We look forward to the opportunity this gives us to be involved in one of the major events in the Gippsland sporting calendar."

Gippsland League General Manager Daniel Heathcote said the league is thrilled to continue its long-standing partnership with the station.

"We are excited to have the Gippsland Live team locked in to cover Gippsland League matches for many years to come," he said.

In his eighth year behind the mic, commentator Daryl Couling said after two years of reduced seasons because of the pandemic, it will be great to hopefully call a Grand Final this year.

"It's great to have local sport back and it's an exciting time for the clubs with some big signings, ex-AFL players and new coaches to the competition," he said.

"Over the past few years there's been a hollow feeling to the season and the final game is always the most exciting one, we all look forward to it and it puts a cap on the season.

"It'll be great to have the grand final back."

Round one will be held on April 2, with the commentary team calling an exciting clash between Moe and Warragul.

Each club will feature in the broadcast at least once by the end of round six, with a highlight being Anzac Day weekend double header, Saturday night Traralgon host Morwell, while on Sunday Drouin face Warragul at Western Park, both games live on TRFM.
